Miley Cyrus Name Change: What, *Another* Name?!

Miley Cyrus, the artist also known by the name of the character she plays, Hannah Montana, has now decided to formally change her real name. The performer, who was born as Destiny Hope Cyrus, has now changed her legal name to Miley Ray Cyrus.

The moniker "Miley" is a nickname from her childhood, when family members often called the happy kid "Smiley." Miley Cyrus, ummm, I mean, Miley Ray Cyrus, chose the middle name Ray as a tribute to her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

And in case you're wondering, yes, her father is the same Billy Ray Cyrus who had millions of Americans singing and dancing (and many others puking) to the sounds of his big hit single, "Achy Breaky Heart," back in... hmmm, the early 1990s? Well, suffice to say it was a long time ago...

At least Ms. Cyrus didn't change her name to The Artist Formerly Known as Miley Cyrus.
